Prior to cartoonnetwork.com's launch. CN had a site over on AOL that began in 1994. Shortly after the launch of cartoonnetwork.com, the AOL site became abandoned. (Keyword: Cartoon)

In 1998, cartoonnetwork.com launched. Prior to it's launch, CN would offer sweepstakes to earn a shirt celebrating it. From 1998 to 2000, It used a unique spiderweb design that resembles reading a sunday newspaper. Starting in 1999, Character navigations began appearing on the site, with The Powerpuff Girls and Scooby Doo being some of the first shows to get their own site. Other shows would soon follow.
The website's design was altered significately in 2000, but is basically the same as the previous site, containing the same elements. The front page actually looks like a front page.
In 2002, around the release of The Powerpuff Girls Movie, cartoonnetwork.com changed again, but it was way more drastically than the previous one. Stuff like D.O.C. and Web Premiere Toons were removed. At least there was cToons.
To match with the then-new City look the network was going for, cartoonnetwork.com got updated once again, but kept a lot of the elements from it's previous look. It even got a navigation bar powered by flash that lets you scroll through it's many shows.
In 2006, cartoonnetwork.com became entirely powered by flash, and the website went for a more simplistic look. Around this time CN would began experimenting with MMOs, which lead to the creation of FusionFall. CNvideo was also introduced, which featured full episodes and clips of your favorite shows.
Around the time CN introduced a live-action block to their network meant for cartoons, their site changed again to fit a more mature vibe to it to reflect the era the network was in. By the Check It. Era, the site would get a new coat of paint that reflected that era as well, and users can now create accounts and earn badges from playing flash games. There was also a Check or Fail area that was briefly on the site that had strange photoshopped pics of animals. CN also had an offical forum too.
In 2011, the site became less flash-based and went under a more organized look. About a year later, cartoonnetwork.com got it's own blog called "Cool or New", which often promotes stuff like new episodes, advertisements, production art, GIFs, music videos, and much more. If you wanted to watch full episodes, you had to sign in through a service provider.
2014 came the last year cartoonnetwork.com would ever get a big update. With this layout, it's easier for mobile users to use the site. In addition, some episodes are unlocked for free. Eventually this site would see some changes throughout the years, such as the games becoming html5-based instead of flash, which meant you'd no longer earn badges from those games, as well as the removal of the forums, blog, the ability to log in, and all of it's flash games. Practically all of the elements that the CN website had since 2002 were all gone by 2022. Very late in the lifespan of cartoonnetwork.com, the Check It 3.0 elements would be replaced by Redraw Your World, and eventually Pastel elements. After over a decade since it debuted, the site was just a complete broken mess. The image shown above is what the website looked like right before it closed on August 8, 2024.
Currently, the site now redirects to the CN section of the MAX website, with a message saying to subscribe to the streaming service in order to find episodes.

On April 24, 2023. This site launched to replicate CN's old website from the late 90s and early 00s.

Shortly after the official CN website closed, on August 13, 2024, the fansite underwent a major overhaul with more pages to visit, more shows to click on, and a new homepage that resembles the Noods era of the network, using icons that were used on the old official site from 2004 to 2011.

In the future, there might be more changes made to this site, to keep your eyes out for more that's coming soon.
